SaaS Insider is an independent publication covering newly launched software. Every review is hands-on, every verdict is scored.
SaaS Insider started with a simple frustration. New software launches every week and almost nobody has the time to actually try it. Most coverage is either a press release with a login button or a hype cycle that fades by Friday. We wanted something closer to what a print magazine used to give you: a reviewer who spent a week inside the product, a clear verdict, and no incentive to flatter the vendor.
How we review
Research first, hands-on when possible
We build our reviews from real-world testing, vendor documentation, and verified user experiences. We combine hands-on time with deep research to give you the full picture, not just a demo call.
Score against six fixed criteria
Every product is measured the same way, every time, across six weighted categories (refer /how-we-score). These criteria are published with each verdict, so a nine out of ten means the same thing across every category.
Compare with context
We prioritize software we have used directly, but we also lean on market data and user feedback to fill the gaps. If a category leader has not been tested recently, we say so.
Revisit when it matters
Reviews carry an updated date, and we re-score when a product changes materially or when our priorities allow. Older reviews are marked as such.
The standards
None of these are negotiable. They are the reason a score can be trusted at all.
- No paid reviews. Vendors cannot buy an editorial review, rating, ranking, recommendation, or favorable conclusion.
- No paid placement in editorial content. Vendors cannot pay to appear in review lists, comparisons, rankings, or recommendations.
- No affiliate links in reviews. Money never touches a verdict.
- We disclose anything that would embarrass us if we did not.
- Sponsored content is separate from reviews and is clearly labeled and do not receive an editorial score.
- Corrections are published in the article itself, never as a quiet edit.
- What we did not test is named, not implied away.
The team
We are a small publication built around experienced software reviewers and editors. Every review is additionally edited and fact-checked, because a single reviewer with no second pass is how bad claims ship.
